Born in Chicago. He studied at the Art Institute before moving to New York in 1899 where he became an illustrator for the New York Herald. He married Grace in 1908. In 1910, they built a cottage at Canada Lake where they summered for fifty years. In later years Sarka was a prominent illustrator, producing works for such magazines as Collier's, Scribner's, Cosmopolitan and Harper's. |
