Description |
Rendered in an Impressionist style, is a portrait of his wife Grace in their camp on Canada Lake. Beyond the work's aesthetic qualities, it is also an important document of an early 20th century camp interior. The wicker and rattan chair in which Grace sits is typical of camp furnishings at the time; Indian rugs appear on the floor and on the back of the chair; and the generous fireplace provided heat on chilly Adirondack evenings. |
