Description |
Snow covered Blue Mountain looms over delicately drawn trees on its lower ridges. The thick impasto of its surface conveys Wiegand's immersion in the experience of winter in the mountains, its varying shades of white and its transitory light. Executed indoors, was based on an oil sketch (1973.043.0080) made during the winters of 1912 or 1913. |
