Pair of snow tires invented by Earl Covey of Big Moose, NY. First snow tires made of crepe rubber, for non-skid traction on ice. Firestone Tire and Rubber co. in Akron, Ohio manufactured the first pair of "Polar Grip" tires in December, 1929.
