Description |
White ceramic salad plate with light blue floral and scroll designs in center and along rim. Also with worn gold border. Made by the Mercer pottery company in their "Trinidad" pattern. Design in "center" is slightly off-center. There are a few spots in the border where the transferware is blurred. From Camp Wenonah or Wenonah Lodge in Upper Saranac, NY. No stamp on bottom. |
Notes |
Semi-vitreous porcelain is made by coating ceramic or porcelain with an enamel made of powdered glass. This gives it a shiny luster. Semi-vitreous pieces can absorb between 3-7% moisture. The coating also increases durability. |
