Description |
Set of cast andirons with a Chinese dragon head in deep relief on a 6.5 " disk on top of iron with legs curled strongly inward. There is a ribbon pattern running down the neck with a shield seperating the same design on the legs. This ribbon pattern may represent the body of the dragon. The front log support leg is tapered and has a twisted shaft top with a ball finial. Patent date August 24, 1880. Made by Bradley & Hubbard. "Pat'd Aug. 1888 B & H 9509" |
