3 Blanks & 3 Patterns a-c) guideboat rib patterns for #1 rib. These wooden patterns (3) have a long deep curve and long bottom crosspiece. Their inner edge is rounded. One has a knot at the top and has been gnawed on at the bottom end. Each has a slight saw mark where the rib has an angle to cross the keel. Used by Earl B. Chapman, guideboat builder of Bush's Landing (Lowville, N.Y.) Marks: Pencil measurements and one is marked "1 m6" in pencil at angle d-f) Guideboat rib blanks for #1 rib. There are three of these blanks with a long deep curve and long bottom joining. Their top ends are rounded and their bottom ends are tapered and cut diagonally (longest on top of edge) Marks: Penciled measurements and the darker one has "1 M6" on it in pencil |
