Totem Pole from Camp Riverdale in Long Lake, carved by "F. W. Rosher" in 1928. Painted animals carved from top to bottom: Stag with head in a man's arms; badger; two birds; a landscape with a river and a fish; bear cub; owls sitting in tree branches; flowers and two faces of men. Signature carved about halfway down. |

AM Lib. has mss from Camp Riverdale, including a poem explaining the symbolism of this totem pole. Pole is one of a pair that stood in the campfire circle of CAmp Riverdale. When the camp became Adirondack Wilderness Camp the poles were moved to the main lodge. THey were sold at auction when the camp property went to the state. |
