Oval "licensed chauffeur" pin that belonged to Leona Standen Panella (1892-1924) who established, with her husband Philip Panella, the first bus service to connect Inlet and Utica. The bus operated daily, driven by Leona, who wore this pin. Licensure is specific to New York state, and includes Leona's personal ID number, "226766." The license was set to expire the first of July, 1923. The pin would have been fastened to a coat or hat for visibility. |
