Writing on the back reads: "Black Brook about 1870 / Note- no vault on side of store-office / Note monument to Tom Rogers in cemetery - also see difference in hight [sic] of trees between pictures / Presbyterian Church there but not Roman Catholic. / Old forge roof - different from that in later picture. / Note ladder on roof. Roofs had to be metal as sparks from fires caused many fires." |
