Admin/Biographical History |
Camp Jesswin was built by Jesse Stanley (1848-1926) of New Britain, Connecticut, for his wife Hannah Elizabeth "Libbie" (Murray) Stanley (1853-1926) and son Erwin Stanley (1880-1951). The name "Jesswin" is a combination of the father and son's names. Erwin and his wife, Daisy May Clark (1874-1966) of Pittsfield, Massachusetts honeymooned their and brought their daughter Margaret Stanley (1913-2007) to vacation there. After Jesse Stanley's death, Erwin sold the camp to a James F. Wallace of Rochester, NY. |
