Research on logging railroads compiled by author and journalist Richard Lawrence in the 1960s and 1970s while writing about railroads, especially logging railroads, in the Adirondacks. Collection includes research, mostly in the form of typewritten notes and including largely histories and locomotive rosters, correspondence between Lawrence and various railroads, historical societies and historians, maps on which Lawrence drew railroad routes, and a draft of "Wooden Rails in the Wilderness," Part IV of Lawrence's larger work "Logging Railroads of the Adirondacks." |
