Summary |
Short pamphlet describing a stained glass window "designed to relate to the North Creek area of the Adirondack [Mountains]" and installed in St. James Church in North Creek, N.Y. in 1980. The window features native stones including cystalline limestone -- "the oldest rock in the mountains", anorthosite from Marcy and Whiteface, Gneiss -- "the dominant rock of the Adirondacks", garnet from the Gore and Ruby Mountain mines, Postdam sandstone and rocks "rounded by the Continental glacier." |
