|Description||Splitting chisel with ring handle. Heavy, with a long handle with a narrow blade 3-inches wide, beveled on both sides. Gifford-Wood Co. Stamped on blade: "476 Gifford-Wood Co." No. 476 in the catalog (see Notes). "Used to split off single cakes either in the canal or on the platform. Handy for general use, with a blade of uniform taper on each side." According to accession form, some of the tools were used on Raquette Lake. Probably also used on Little Tupper Lake.|
