Description Hoe with wooden handle and 9" metal blade. Handle fits into a short shaft on the blade. Printed paper decal on center of blade: "THE UNION FORK & HOE COMPAN[Y] / COL". Center and bottom of decal missing. Color image at center of decal design appears to be a laughing chicken wearing a bandana. Stamped into blade is a "U" in a circle and also "SE6."
Notes These hoes were manufactured up to 11-inches wide, and were most often used for breaking up extremely tough or hard soil. Union Fork & Hoe Co. is based in Columbus, Ohio and has a plant in Frankfort, NY.
