This is one of the narrower models in Rushton's wide array of pleasure rowboats. It was purchased for livery use at th Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid and has seen rough use. It has been patched on the outside near the keel with canvas, and wooden skids were added to protect the bottom when the boat was drawn up on a dock or shore. It has two center seats and originally had three rowing stations. The Mirror Lake Inn burned in 1988. It wa then the oldest structure in Lake Placid, having been built in 1883. The Wycoff family, from whom the mseum purchased this boat, ran the hotel for fifty years.
