1 of 48 quilt blocks in the Evening Star album quilt pattern (Brackman #2139). Most have names embroidered in the central square in red embroidery thread. A few are only written there (in pencil) and one has no name. On each block the star points and the upper and lower bar of the three-part central square are one fabric, the background is another, and the central bar is white muslin. Vendor said the blocks were from the 1930s, which they may well be, but the makers were probably using fabric from a generation before, possibly feed sacks.
