Maker Handmade to standard specs
Material Wood/Iron
Used Bonnie Belle Farm, probably by C.A. Jacob, Jr.'s mother and wife
Description Great Wheel for spinning wool into yarn: also called a High Wheel, or Walking Wheel because the spinner walked backward when tension was needed on the yarn. The large wooden spinning wheel stands on three legs and is painted red-brown (possibly Johnsburg Red). The body is lowest beneath the 12-spoked wheel, and is higher at the other end where the spindle post is located. The tensioning device is intact at the base of the spindle post, but the spindle and head are missing from the top. There is no driving cord connecting the wheel to the head.
