Summary |
1 box of materials pertaining to Moss Ledge Camp, a private camp on Upper Saranac Lake built for Isabel A. Ballantine by architect William Coulter. The bulk of the collection consists of three camp log books. Most entries in the log books are written by Isabel A. Ballantine, her brother-in-law George G. Frelinghuysen, and George's son Peter H.B. Frelinghuysen. Entries detail daily activities at the camp, including boating, fishing, hunting, and social visits. The log books also include a description of the camp and information about its construction, an 1899 visit from the Roosevelt family, and a 1904 fire destroying a nearby camp. The collection also includes five undated photographs. |
